Roll over bar pops up over rough roads
The roll over bar of my friend's 500SL pops up whenever he drives over rough roads. I guess one of his sensors is going crazy.
Any ideas?

The roll bar is designed to pop up when a roll over is looming, which is detect based on body inclination and of one of the wheels leaves the ground. So, either your friend is driving fast enough for the electronics to think he's about to roll it or else one of the sensors is giving bad information.
One for the dealer....
The roll-bar will deploy under extremely heavy braking, that's what's meant to happen.
