1995 SL500 Dies when reaches temprature
Hi all, I have a 1995 SL500 that was running fine sent to a very good Indi for the following:
Trans rebuild
Rear-end reseal
Engine Mounts
Trans Mount
Radiator (Part of the trans rebuild)
Knock sensors replaced
fuel pressure regulator
CPS (Twice)
got the car back, and when it reaches temperature it starts to shutter and dies. the fuel pressure on the rail stays up, you cant restart the car until it cools down. If you hold the throttle open when it starts to shutter it will stay running, but the moment you drop to idle it dies out.
No useable codes coming from the computer
Battery is new, charging is fine.
Engine harness has been done.
Don't want to just start replacing things as the landscape seems pretty open. thoughts?

MAF sensor?
My 1998 SL 500 acted the same way hesitating on acceleration and sometimes cruising. It would die at times while idling.
I tried cleaning the MAF sensor but ended up replacing the unit (easy enough to access under the air filter compartments) and that took care of it.
A replacement MAF unit from Bosch is $220 at AutoHausAZ: http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...0Flow%20Sensor
My Check Engine light didn't come on initially. Then it did and sometimes went out. When I had the codes checked, it was Mass Air Flow sensor.
