SL/R129: Liguatronic Lever & Cruise Control with Speed Limiter

Iam from germany, operating a MY2000 SL55.
I wonder if the cruise control "overseas" ever came with speed limiter AND Liguatronic lever ?
I guess no, isnt it ?

Cheers, Frank
My ride system settles lower when vehicle is in cruise control and about 60 MPH. I understand that was tried on some 600's but not part of the regular production.
I have a 2011 "gull wing" by AMG that has a multi part suspension and high speed body height adjustment, but understand those were not on all 2011 SL models.
I would like to know more about your speed limiter and liquatronic level.
As a collector I found a 1954 300SL Gull wing that has almost nothing from the original build sheet!

Not much related to my question but i'll try to answer yours. ;-)
My engine has got removed the ECU limiter and goes 280km/h.
Since this the M113 engine, a simple ECU flash.
Your engine, a M120 in the R129, needs indeed preprogrammed chips to replace the engine program.
But the speed limiter of which iam talking about is a 2nd function of the cruise control lever. (activated by pushing it to the steering column) It allows you to set the personal speed limit to the current traffic situation. eg. to 33 Mph.
Nothing unusual in the rest of the world, but i guess government decided its too sophisticated to US citizens :-/
The US version of the cruise control switch lever of the same MY has an empty socket at the opposite side where an Linguatronic lever can be installed.
This gives a signal to the linguatronic module to listen to the microphone and then sending the recognized command onto the D2B databus to Radio, Changer or Telephone.
I hope that clarifies it a bit more.
Cheers, Frank
