SL/R129: Brake Backing Plate

2000 R129 SL500
Brake Backing Plate
Hi folks.
I have an R129 SL500 (year 2000) and am trying to source the front left and right brake backing plates for the car.
(vin No:- WDB1290682F193***)
The part numbers are:-
A1294201844 Left and A1294201944 Right.
I live in Dublin (Ireland) and have been on to my local dealers who have reported that the parts are no longer manufactured and so are no longer available.
I'm hoping some of you may have suggestions on where to try or perhaps if the backing plates from any other models would fit? Are there any outside manufacturers making these?
