i there,
own a SL 320 1999 model,,
- when closing the electric roof soft roof cannot lock in front, any idea?
- aircon not working, problem with the climate controller,can it be fixed or must it be replaced?

The soft top may need extra pressure to engage the locks That happens with the hard top almost every time I "plump" the seals If memory serves it has happened twice with the soft top. I use a silicone gel to clean the seals on both tops. the silicone cleans and the method I use to apply distorts the rubber so it is thicker. When I close I use three hands, one for button two others to depress the top front plate further into the latching system. The hydraulic locks snaps closed and all the buzzer and flashing light goes out!
With no knowledge of your skill set or location. direct replacement may be best. The HVAC is a complicated system with both vac line control, electronic sensors and multistage air movement demands. I turn to the skilled person with software.
In Kansas there are not low priced new parts nor junk yard salvage so I have used re-mans for several electronic control units. The re-mans usually have a good result!
