Hi all,

Need some help. Was sitting at a parking lot idling and the temperature kept creeping up. I went to Mercedes mechanic and he replaced fuses for auxiliary fans. The problem is, they only turn on when the AC is running. If I leave it idling with AC off, they don't turn on and temp goes above 90c. Shouldn't they turn on no matter if the AC is on or off if the temperature goes up?

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Yes, the aux fan should turn on when it reached the high-temp limit even if the AC is off. In your case, the aux fan temp/sensor switch may be faulty.
