Hello!
I have been considering buying a R129, and I have been going through the pros and cons of 320SL and 500SL.
Which of the models do have the ASR system? Do all 500SL's have the ASR? I'm quite sure that I want to have one without the apparently problematic system.
How I can check if the car has ASR?

1991 500 SL
For a lot of the optional systems you either want to have access to a good electronics technician or be one yourself. None of the individual components are "special" as far as I have seen and can be found in the reference books but when something starts to go wrong, you definitely need to be able to figure out the electronic circuit flow as a whole to properly diagnose unless you have the factory diagnostic equipment handy.

Hi,
Problem is I don't have a car yet - I'm just started looking. I'd like to know if there is a fact of the models that use ASR. Has it been in all of the earliest 500's?
I have found out that at least in 300's it has been obligational, but otherwise I am more interested about the V8.
