1995 SL 500 Roof Control Module Needed

Hi all,

Well, I have discovered that the above has failed in my car (over at a garage having some diags done at the moment).

Have had a look on eBay and can only see 1 on there at the moment and that is faulty.

Anyone know where I can get one at a sensible price? Does not need to be new - used is fine so long as it works.

Part number needed is 1298203226.

Or does anywhere know of where they can be repaired?

I have seen info on BBA Reman, however their website appears dead...

Thanks in advance for any pointers / help.

Regards

TMW

Hi, My name is Dennis and I have a roof controller for a '95 sl, it is from a 40k mile salvage vechile. You can check out my post on page two on this forum. I also have all the cylinders with latches, the pump, roll bar controller, both side mirrors and the antenna. The roof controller lists for $2795 here in New Jersey, I am asking $425 us or best offer. Thanks, Dennis

Hi all,

Well, some good news and some bad.

The replacement module has now been purchased, arrived at the garage Friday, fitted and roof now moves again.

And then they found that both electric window motors are also shot - the sensor that detects where the window is is fried in both, so the roof won't lock in as it doesn't know it's at the end of the sequence and the windows no longer drop on door opening.

I am waiting for the part numbers from them so I can get on the hunt for those now. It's the one with the sensors built into the motor I've been told, so the older ones don't work but I don't want to order anything from anywhere until they have confirmed from the current ones.

Sigh...

Are you sure that the motors are dead? Did you try synchronizing the windows?

Hi crazyinventor,

Thank you for the quick reply.

I'm helping my neighbor repair his power roof.

Did some research and the 95MY used two different power roof controllers.

2526 designed for 1993 to 6/1995 R129 and had a separate roll-over bar controller from the RST controller.
3226 designed for 1995 to 1998 R129 and had the roll-over bar controller combined with the RST controller into one controller.

Unfortunately he needs the 129 820 25 26 part.

Looks like he is going to have to send it off to BBA Reman for repair.
