I love to advise (spread by version of BS ) however don't know where to start!
where in the world are you? This just started or has happen since new to you?
The engine stops running while in gear? every time? at any speed?
To have the "easy restart" you have parked the transmission and what is the time line?
Jusst a few questions to unwrap your comment.

last year. U never no when it will happen.
As ur driving at any speed the car dyes
all the warning lights come on sometimes
it will shut off and just as fast startup and begin
running again...on its own. Stalls for like 2 or 3 seconds. At other times it will dye and I have to coast to side of road and stop put in neutral
and it will start right up. For some reason it stopped last year after about 3 or 4 times. Then started up about a month ago. No warning. Car is always moving when it happens. Changed plugs in April 2016. No problems right after.
Fuel or ignition? Could key be a problem?
Thanks. Always starts right up when first
getting in....idles great.

If all the lights in dash come on then I think key off (the car stops running ) Key on lights back on. In my experience could be ignition key but more likely further down the electrical system. maybe a short in the wiring from key barrel to master CPU for electrical.
I'm glad for the insight and additional information. be nice if it is dirty oil but I'm thinking wiring?
You didn't mention heat or time, any insight about engine or outside temp. as well as any events of all circuits off when the vehicle stops moving?
Good luck.

I hope I have no other battery caused problems, cause the side mirrors can no more be adjustable. How do you know how much cca's the battery has? Is there any easy way to find out from home? I've put a new battery yesterday but my car is still not starting. When I connect the solenoid fuse 52 wire directly to the battery the starter makes a click sound but not turning. I took the starter for repairs last week and asked the auto electrician to replace the solenoid and brushes but I doubt it that he changed the brushes, but again I'm guessing. I have also sanded the battery terminals, but with not good difference. Before going back to him I will check the starter battery cable if corroded or not.

MBWorld Fanatic!
great car but Mercedes messed up not giving the c63 black series it's own vin/model
like the clk bs is it's own car and mb made this car just an option on its build sheet from a regular c63.
that will not help in the cars resale value down the road and as u can see this one is already priced well under valued

Yes this sounds exactly like the ignition key switch worn, not a big problem or cost to resolve. Don't think complicated, sometimes it is simple!

What a great thread! My '09 SL550 will turn 10 in 2 days (it's an '09MY but was delivered in '08) though I bought it 2.5 yrs old. Just turned 44 and I still love this car every time I drive it. It's my first MB and I have no plans to get rid of it though if the repairs (aside from maintenance) start going over $3k a year or if it starts developing rattles or squeaks then it'll have to go.
Is there a way to see the number of times the top has been raised and lowered? I drive a few times a week and it's rare that I don't lower it (I live in the south).
I'm actually glad the newer ones look a little weird to me so I have no temptation to get one. Want to stay focused on #FIRE anyway.
