Rear latch problems

Hello, on my 1992 r129 the rear latches of the soft top doesnt want to unlock, both seem to want to release but it catches and doesnt. They're clicking to release on both sides, but dont go through the motion of releasing. It seems to me that the left side is catching more than the right side, maybe its stopping the right side unlocking? When manually releasing the latches, the hood goes through its full motion, opens fully and closes and will lock again, but when I try to raise the soft top via the switch it wont release it properly.

I've checked fuses, fluid and the prongs line up.

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any comments or suggestions!

I would consider the following: have the latches achieved the fully opened position? If not, then there may be an issue with the latch hydraulics; if they have, then the limit swithes on the latches may not be signaling the controller, and if the switches are signaling, then the hydraulics for raising the bow may be faulty.

Thanks very much , I will go through that in that order and see what it it , I think its your first suggestion as the latches are not opening to release the soft top , its sounds like its trying to on both sides but just doesn't !
Thanks again
