I bought a 96 SL 500 yesterday and the radio worked okay all the way home (4 hours).
Today it has a lot of distortion out of the right speakers.
It was much warmer today than yesterday
anyone have any ideas if this is a radio problem or some other amplifier?
Is there a way to figure this out without swapping out/ replacing pieces?
Thanks
Ray

My 1995 SL 320 with the Bose system has all the classic symptoms --crackling,no bass, low volume,1 speaker not working, ect. So I printed off the door removal photos and went to town.MB wants about $1300 buy just the speakers,no labor.I am sending mine back to Bose for repair or relacement. If you want to keep the Bose system, you really have to do this every 7-9 years.Takes about 1-1/2 hours to get the speakers out and replace them.
