MAF sensor question - '94 SL500

A quick question related to my '94 SL500, if I may. Am I right in thinking that the total working electrical part of the MAF sensor can be removed simply by unscrewing the two screws and easing/pulling it free?

I ask because the wire mesh in the top of my MAF housing is past its best, but I have an almost new, but faulty (suspected Chinese knock-off), MAF sensor with what I think from the quality is almost certainly an OE MB casting, in pristine condition, and I'm minded to swap the gubbins over.

And this is helpful because?

For your information, the MAF with the dilapidated wire mesh is an OE MB. Perhaps you could get on with your life without making wrong assumptions before posting ill-considered responses to posts. If you do not know the answer to a question, perhaps you should say nothing. Just a thought...
