SL/R129: Not going into overdrive

1995 Mercedes SL500
Not going into overdrive
1995 SL500, miles 115k runs and drive perfect but will not go into overdrive. Haven't looked into anything or had any codes pulled, don't have easy access to place to get codes. Anyone had the problem and have idea what to check? Thanks

That transmission is a 4-speed automatic with no overdrive. It is hydraulically-controlled and has no controller from which to read codes.

Not an expert, but have owner several Benz
I'm not sure any R 129 had overdrive.
Maybe the membership in other parts of the world can enlighten us.
Bobterry has been part of both "world of Benz" and I would bank on his advise!
