Drivers window won't work. Changed motor / controller
I'm out of option with this roof/window but I will review the details in the hope someone knows what to do next.
1) the car was backed into a pole hard enough to deploy the roll bar and the RB light was on and of course the roof stopped working. Didn't give it much thought since the car had the hard top on and I was happy to leave it on. So I just lowered the RB and drove the car for several months. No problems. The windows would open slightly and close each time we opened the door, as required by the roof controller.
2) now the drivers window stopped working completely. Didn't open slightly when the door was opened and wouldn't work at all with the console button.
3) had the car scanned and the codes indicated the hall effect sensor (motor) and a micro switch. Which is a mystery because since this car is a 97 and there isn't a micro switch in the door for the window. They tested the motor but there was no power to the motor. Putting 12V onto the motor itself made it work....so it's not the motor, but maybe the hall effect sensor..or maybe the controller.
4) sent the controller to BBA and had the roll bar code cleared and the unit was returned checked and "repaired". Benched tested, I assume by them, and worked as normal....repaired! Put it back in the car...no difference with the windows BUT the RB lights are now out. I haven't tried to work the roof cause I know if the window won't go down it won't work and I don't want to through another code in the controller.
5) So it maybe the hall effect sensor which requires a new motor! Replaced the window motor, thinking the hall effect sensor was the problem...nope...still the window doesn't work.
The only thing left to check is the micro switch....but the door is not suppose to have one.
Now what?....anybody got a direction I can start looking?....any ideas?

Thanks Plutoe but the 97 doesn't have that limit switch. That was stopped in 95.
The micro switches in the door tested Ok and the DS window still won't work.
So...had BBA "rebuild" the controller, replaced the window motor because the code said "hall effect sensor"
checked the console switches and door lock micro switches because code said "DS window micro switch", checked the wiring harness where it enters the door for broken wires, nothing..and still no window.
What's left...? I'm outta ideas....what a PITA.
I'll get it scanned again

Yes Lee...I confirmed that the switch was activated when the door was "latched". The position of the micro switch was in the middle. The switch itself tested fine. But I'm missing something,...I'll "normalize" as you suggested but pass. side functions as it should.

I'm pretty sure it's the controller and that BBA messed up the repair or didn't complete it correctly...should have done my due diligence BEFORE I sent it to them.
Thanks all for your help.
