I own a 1997 SL500 and occasionally when I get hard acceleration trying making turns like in corner blocks to go into a main street the car Goes to a limited speed of 30 km/h and this speed value Number shows into the wheater temperature display.to return to the normal operation I need to get ignition off and restart again and becomes normal Again.anybody has any idea why this happen?is it normal? Or any sensor or module failure? Regards Alfredo

The vehicle is not a race car, and so it is upset with wheel slip and non-matching wheel rotation.
The fact that you can use the ignition key to turn off and restart the vehicle means the system is working. Some refer to these as soft code resets.
If a more complex problem, like fuel/ air mixture, anti slip system, brake system malfunction then codes would be need to be reset from the OBD II.
