Idle too low
Hello on my 1994 SL500 when I start from cold it idles around 8 or 900 then about 30 secs to 1 min it drops to 600 rpms but when fully warmed up and I come to stop the idle drops down to 400 or 500
Is there a way to turn up idle manualy ??
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

Your SL500 has a 119.972 LF-SFI engine with ASR and without TWC. Serial number 12 009976.
That info is required to read correctly and understand the attached documentation----read carefully and apply the idle speed tests and adjustments----if you don't understand your engine, don't play around find someone who has the experience.

This failure is a consequence of your relying on a VIN to retrieve information from the WIS without adequately knowing anything about the topic at hand. In my experience the WIS can not be relied upon to find correct information by VIN or model year.
No.
Your idle speed is controlled by a module dedicated to controlling the throttle valve. Its diagnostic manual table of contents is here. You might start by reading codes with an LED and refer to their interpretation here. Or you might go straight to the various electrical test here.
Note that '93-'95 Mercedes V-8 and V-12 cars and '94-'96 I-6 cars are notorious for insulation falling off the wires in the engine wiring harness. If your wiring is original, and can account for this idle problem.

The document you uploaded is surely the wrong one for the OP's vehicle, since he probably has catalytic converters in his exhaust. How far back does one have to go to find a car M-B sold in the U.S. that had no catalytic converter? The '70s?

Idle low
Thanks for info guys.I doesn't die at stops but I just figured idling at 500 is little low.Kind of worried me
I don't think I'll check this out myself if I feel it needs attention I'll take it to MB mechanic.
There is no engine light on..Just the annoying SRS light and windshield washer fluid low light even though the washer bottle is full
Car runs exellant.I suppose I should be grateful for that..
