Evap system large leak

1999 SL 600 Sport. Occasionally over the past 6 months, the fuel indicator would flash. I took this as a warning to replace the gas cap. I replaced the cap with a generic cap that fit but the problem seems to have continued and seemed to be most common when accelerating briskly.

Finally, the CEL came on. Xentry says it is a large leak in the Evap or possible problems with purge valve or tank pressure sensor. I am pretty sure I see the purge valve visible just behind the left headlight, but not really sure how to get to the tank pressure sensor, or what to look for to verify function of these parts. Any hints would be appreciated.

Also, I am building a smoke generator in case I have to smoke it for leaks, but so far have not found the Evap system diagram. Would appreciate seeing a copy or can someone tell me how to browse the repair manual to find it?

The diagnostic manual for engine M120 will give you information for troubleshooting the EVAP sensor. It will also show location of components. The tank pressure sensor (B4/4) is in the engine compartment.
