R129 280SL viscous clutch removal

Hi all! Can't find anything in previous posts (but there'll be something somewhere. . .
I suspect the bearing behind the viscous clutch has gone. I can easily rock the device around. I've removed the fan and the plastic guard and the belt but can't work out how to remove the viscous clutch to get to the next bit.
Any sensible suggestions?
Thanks.

Go to AutoZone and rent their fan removal wrenches very large ones and just put the one that fits the best on around the 4 bolts on the back of the pulley to hold it. Also I went through three viscous fan clutches all we're bad I ended up taking the third clutch up in the back seal removed all of the Grease and welded the where the bearings were. I run at 98 in stop and go traffic now.

Did you lay them down when they broke? I've heard you always have to keep those upright or the fluid leaks into the wrong place. Not sure if that applies to Mercedes tho
