ASR and ABS Light came on
Hello, I just got a 1996 SL 500 (R129) and everything seems like it is working well. However, I was driving it today, and when I was almost at my destination, I realized that the ASR and ABS Lights were on. I don't know if this had anything to do with me driving the car hard, or turning off ASR via the switch on the centre console. *when I turned the car off then on again, the lights did not come back on.
I am not a car guy and am 22 so I don't have a lot of experience with stuff (I just figured out how to unplug the car battery). I have built computers before and RC cars, but I don't know where to start when it comes to troubleshooting any of the problems the car might have. If anyone has any tips or basic things I could check, it would be much appreciated.
Keep in mind I am not familiar with the cars internals, and I only read the manual once.

A detail that I previously left out was that the cruise control stopped working too. Could the base module be responsible for this aswell?
Thanks for the reply!!!

If you intend to keep the car, you should invest in a good Dealer Level Diagnostic system, or be prepared to spend a large fortune at the Dealer. This 25-year-old car was a fantastic car. However, the time has come when many electronic/electrical gremlins raise their ugly heads.
