That's confusing. They have a picture of an R129, but seem to be talking about the R230.

total loser

I enjoy all the loser vehicles I own or have owned!
I admit I look for losers, as long as I can enjoy I don't care about the general car buying population needs or wants.
I agree car collection, vanity car enjoyment and returning to the "fantasy of youth" is not for anyone but those of us who delight in our hobby.
Of course when an author of an article doesn't fact check, that is another issue!
I enjoy additional cylinders, even when less would get me down the road!

He seems to be talking about the R230 SL600, but the picture is an R129 SL600. He's not saying it's the worst, he's saying to stay away from it.

He's not wrong when it comes to most people. Most people can't handle the maintenance from a V12 SL. Anything major, and you have to lift the engine. Any non-trivial job, count 5-10x the cost vs an SL500 due to all the manual labour.

They're still awesome cars, they're just not for everybody.
