i have a 1993 R129,runs great but after i shut it down and restart very often it runs like it only has 2 or 3 cylinders firing
but if i get it out on the interstate and ease into it it will catch hold throw me back in the seat and run like a top for an hour
or a week. does anyone have any ideas as to the problem?

I'll guess your car has a V-8 or V-12 engine with original, deteriorating engine wiring harness.

Wouldn't that be a continuous issue rather than an intermittent problem? and why would a hard run on the interstate solve the issue for a period of time?
