Misfires

I had CEL light on, code P0308. Swapped coils with cylinder 7. Scanned for codes . No more P0308. but P0305 current and P0300 pending. Swapped coils 5-6 This time CEL light on but no codes of any kind generated. Same thing happened the next time.

Low idle very rough, strong smell of gasoline in cabin. Spark plugs replaced recently with original Bosch copper recommended by MB

Addendum: Just checked for fault codes again. P0308 Current, P0306 pending, P0300 pending. Appears to be the case that the coil that was on 5, now on 6,, and the one that was in 8, then 7 now 8 again are both bad. Would switching them around with 2 misfires cause the P0300 random code or is it likely to be a separate issue?

Are third-party coils acceptable? Thanks in advance.
