SL 300-24 valve

How do you identify if a SL 300 is a 12 versus 24 valve ?

The 12-valve motor is designated "M103" by Mercedes; the 24-valve "M104". The motors appear considerably different, so if you search images on those two terms and compare to your engine you should easily discern which you have.
