1995 SL500 R129 window no synced with soft top
So I bought a 1995 SL 500 about 10 months ago and I absolutely love this car. I've been working at rebuilding and replacing a bit on it. So I've ran into a issue. When I first bought the car I replaced both top actuators because one of the O-rings was bad. Now the top works perfectly fine until 2 months ago. The driver side window stops working occasionally until I have to restart the car. This causes the soft top from not working properly. It will cause the soft-top to only go up halfway or if I'm taking it off it only goes down halfway. At this point I think it's just the controller or a bad voltage Spike because I have other electrical problems sometimes. I was wondering if I can change out a fuse and try that first before I take it into someone? Any ideas on what my first choice should be?

The roof controller must be able to completely lower both windows and track the position of the window glass using a feedback signal from the motor assembly; otherwise, the roof will not complete an open/closed cycle. So focus on your problems with the drive-side window.

My 95 had the same exact issue. Turned out to be a bad relay in the RST controller located behind the passenger seat. 2 new relays cost $16.99 on eBay. RST Relays

Have you ever worked on circuit boards? Do you know how to unsolder and resolder components? If not, I'd recommend what Bobbyterry stated in his post. You need to isolate the issue first before replacing relays. Does your driver's side window drop when you open the door? When it fails, can you open or close the window? BBA Reman can replace the relays for you at a reasonable price if you are not adept at soldering etc. BBA Reman
When the window stops working it doesn't drop when you open the door and the top gets stuck. But it works for maybe two or three cycles of the top until the window stops working. I have a brother in law that works on circuit boards, the one thing I need information on is removing the controller and how to get to it.
