Ouch Pwr Steering Pump - have I got self levelling!

I have had a power steering fluid leak since buying my 1994 SL500 R129 a few months back.

Just took it to the local independent and got the news it is the pump and not the jubilee clamps leaking!!

About £660 to replace if it is a self levelling car, or £490 if not! How do I know if I am self levelling or not? - the car is 1994 and has the switch on the dash to stiffen up damping.

Or - top up PS fluid and clean garage floor every few months at say £5 a go - the cross over in cost should be in about 10 years.

Lets hope I am not self levelling! I went back to a ten year old Merc because of concerns over build quality and over use of technology on the modern stuff.

Cheers

Paul
