Current/Future Market Value of Super Low Mile SL500
Hey guys, im new to the forum, I have a 5k mile 1999 SL500 red/black and its in very good shape and im curious about whether I should sell it now or keep it as a long term investment. The reason I mention selling is I've been following the auction market for 129's and I've noticed a couple high dollar sales in the last 12 months. The car is in very good shape its stored in a climate controlled garage, all fluids recently changed, it even has the original tires. These are the cars I've seen sell recently
1. 1993 SL500 w/ 11k miles sold for $44,600 at bonhams https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24953/lot/131/
2. 2002 SL500 silver arrow w/13k miles sold for $48,400 at Gooding https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/20...mited-edition/
3. 2000 SL500 w/ 1500 miles sold for $48,000 on bringatrailer https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...benz-sl500-17/
Looking around on ebay for the last few months, there are never any SL's with 0-20k mileage, they're all way over. I have the room to keep the car, I bought it fairly recently but an unexpected real estate opportunity just popped up(elderly neighbor passed and her heirs want to sell and its a teardown but would give us a double lot which is rare) and my wife says I can do it if I get rid of some of my cars, I have too many she says. So this one is the one im least attached to bc its my most recent purchase but part of me thinks a mint one like it will have alot of upside in a few years, so Im just curious what others think of the 129 SL500 as a longer term investment. I know they made tons of them, but there's very few in this shape.
