SL/R129: 300sl problems fuel??

300sl problems fuel??
91 300sl starts up when cold first time when warm hit key stalls hit key again starts great and runs great. let it sit for a few days starts great runs about half mile motor shakes to stall, will not start must press gas down almost to floor. converter stinks it slowly hits on a few cylinders then comes to live. shops are at a loss...just want to replance everything already did plugs dist cap and rotor...Help any ideas 51 thousand miles..on car by the way

My 90 300SL does same thing when I don't drive it for a week. Dealership doesn't know what's wrong. Since I drive it daily, not a real problem. I'll drop it off when I'm on vacation at the dealership so they can experience first hand. Takes about 5 miles for me to stall. Had it happen four times in last year, stalled at same traffic light, same route. Freaky.
