2002 SL500 Silver Arrow Interior Colors

As most of you are probably aware, the SL500 Silver Arrow came with a two-tone interior - the seat bolsters are black and the sqaub & center back panel are a silverish-white color. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob are also finished with this dual color scheme. I'd like to touch up some wear spots with leather dye (in particular on the steering wheel and shifter knob), but have had no luck turning up any sort of color code for the white/silver leather color. I've scoured the internet for hours, done a VIN check, called my local dealer, called MB corporate, called the MB Classic Center, and no one has been able to provide me with info on the color (the VIN just turns up the 231a Napa Black code). Does anyone have insight into this, or experience in color-matching this particular shade?

Thanks!

I think you've hit on a very important subject here.
No where in any of MB's documentation on your VIIN does it clearly explain what trim you car has.

I have this issue with my car too.

Details only show exterior paint color, and interior leather. That's it.

Hi, xxx.

Drive to a wholesale leather dealer and find your best match.
Luckily mine is not far in cologne with lots of luxory german and british car upholstery expericence and stock. (he could probably also tell you the MB name for your colour)
Iam very picky but so far i have always found my perfect match, since he has most of the time hide from the original producer.

Another way is leather dye, https://www.lederzentrum.de creates you a perfect match colour if you send them a sample.

Cheers, Frank

I sent my shifter knob to the folks at Leatherique and they matched the grayish color perfectly. I did my wheel and shifter and it looked so goo I did the seats as well.

Is there an order number or color match number that others can use in dealing with Leatherique that would save us having to send them samples? Also would you please confirm that you are happy with the match for the seats in spite of using a well worn item for the color match.
Thanks

I am completely satisfied with the match on the color. As I said did the wheel and my seats had been spray dyed and had some type of shiny protectant on them. I used their prepping agent and removed the protect and spray dye. The seats look brand new. I'm looking at the bottle I have and it says "7521 ! Part" the first digit 7 may be a 1 as there is a smudge on the bottle. You probably could call and ask if they have saved the matched color. I initially thought it was the gray used on other SL's and was told it wasn't even close to gray.
