What is my R129 worth
Hello guys, im considering selling my 2000 SL500 with only 34k miles on it. I had to have it repainted and there are cosmetic issues such as the dome light assembly and sun visors broken. I am getting soft top repaired but what do you guys think?
Thanks in advanced

Bring a trailer is an online auction that would be the best reflection.
This and other world benz forums will give you a brutal answer. Condition and documented history is everything! age and miles on the odometer are secondary
if you are offered 5-7 K that would be low and a steal for the buyer, if you get 20K that would be good for you

I have used these people for years for valuing used cars. The full amount added for miles for your car I would say would be in the "optimistic" side if you start with clean retail. But if you took average retail and added full miles add, you should be somewhere in the neighborhood.

Try this link;

plug in Mercedes 2000 SL500 in the window provided, and you will be taken to a page with about 50 similar cars for sale in the USA.
scroll down the the list at the bottom, and you can sort on miles, low to high, and see what similar mileage SL's are selling for.
The is asking prices, not sold prices, so your seeing perhaps what you should "Ask"
R129's are being considered the next worthy young classic, and now is the time to buy because prices are probably at the lowest point they will go.
As we all know, for about $10K your getting a car that's about 10 cent on the dollar, considering what they sold for.

This is the first I have heard this - but like the idea.
I may be a little biased - since we have been enjoying our R129 for over 16 years ... I think the classic designation is appropriate.
R129s could not be considered to be rare, because of the 12 year model run and the number of cars produced - but the R-129 was a big leap foreword over the R-107 & was improved significantly over the years, under basically very similar sheet metal.
One of the best designed and built cars ever.
At near 150,000 miles, ours is as tight and strong as she ever was. We love it.
The bonus for buyers is that many were owned by people who did not drive s lot. So there are some very Low mileage R139s out there.
I would keep your car - not sell it. But that’s me.
