91 300sl fuel issue

I recently bought a 300 that hadn't been driven in 3 years. It was DOA I replaced the CPS and coil to get spark. . It now turns over, starts but wont run more than 2 seconds, but if I use the accelerator I can keep it running a bit longer. I have replaced the fuel, fuel filter and verified that fuel is getting to the fuel distributor in sufficient volume. I'm thinking next I should pull the injectors and see if they are functioning. Has anyone been though this scenario that can offer some insight?

I would use a 12mm wrench to crack open the fuel lines atop the distributor to see if fuel comes forth while the engine cranks. If it does, a further check would be to pull injectors and look for good fuel spray while the engine cranks. For both tests I would disable ignition by unplugging the crankshaft position sensor.

i did as suggested, the ports were dry when first opened, cranked it over and fuel showed in the port but it didn’t fill. And one of the ports must have been opened previously and installed cross threaded. Now I can’t get it to seal.
