95 sl320 oil level warning light came on after oil change
I just did an oil and filter change on my 95 sl320 r129. Put 8 quartz of synthetic oil 5w40. Checked oil dipstick level and it is almost touching the maximum level so I know the oil level is good. After driving for about 2 miles the oil warning light came on. Check for oil leaks and none found. I don't want to put more oil because the dipstick level is still good. Please let me know what is going on and how to correct the problem. Thank you.

Thanks again, Plutoe. It's good to know that I don't have to take down the oil pan to change the oil level sensor. I thought I'd do this because I saw videos on youtube taking down the oil pan. Is it safe to drive the car while waiting for the sensor to be changed?

Plutoe,
I ordered the original MB sensor and the big O-ring seal online. Cost more but I think it's better in the long run. I don't know if I also need the small O-ring the website is showing. Please advise.
Also, I checked the oil level after being parked for few days and dipstick shows 1/8 of an inch over the maximum level. Started the car for 5 minutes then turned off and let it sit for 10 minutes. Checked the oil level again and this time it's 1/8 if an inch below the maximum level. My question to you is did I over filled it or is it just okay? What is the correct way to read the oil level? Please advise.
