Drivers side automatic window

I have a 1991 sl500 and the driver side window will roll up but won’t roll down. I can get the window to roll down when I remove the convertible top but the switch won’t roll it down.
Any fixes or repairs I could do before taking it to a shop?
thx in advance for your replys

Does the other window switch work? up and down by the use of the switch in the center console? if so then reconnect the switch wire from the not working toggle to the working toggle.
I have had several switches stop working one direction and a new switch corrected the problem. the contacts in the switch do wear out!

I guess I have to take the console apart to get to the switch. Thank you for ideas

While taking things apart can be some time it can be a great time to discover the lost items and "slip away" french fries. In another world (Benzworld.org) there is a picture step by step guide to doing it.
Since I may have had more run away fries than the norm the console is a quick, easy to do with only a few parts that break!
Good luck with the project!
