Speakers sound blown when car is cold
I have a 2002 SL500 that I purchased last year. Love the car, and I'm down to the last four or five cosmetic issues on the car and it will be a perfect daily driver. But I digress...
When the car is physically cold, the radio sounds like the speakers are blown, but once it warms up, the sound quality is fine. I'm thinking the problem must be in either the amp or the head unit, as there really isn't much else that could effect sound quality, right?
Any thoughts or how to go about narrowing this down or fixing the problem?
Thanks,
jdg

This could be a "cold solder joint" in the amplifier or head unit. To check the amplifier I would drive it whatever signal source you have available. Unless you happen to have the right electrical connector making a connection to the amplifier would be tricky.
