I have a 91300SL and the passenger side door completely locked shut on me 2 days ago. Now, it's been odd for a while - meaning for the last several months when one pulled on the passenger side door handle it didn't feel smooth (the type experienced when a spring is missing) but not it just won't budge. I've tried the key in the keyhole and the door handle from the inside but nothing. It just doesn't physically move.

My trusty independent mechanic said there's nothing he can do since he can't "get into the door." He said pulling panels on the inside can only be done if the door opens. So he recommended that I take it to a body shop. I called the MB bodyshop and they said I should take it to regular service (but I don't think they're better than my independent mechanic).

Not sure what I should do. I'm going to take her to another indie mechanic and see what he says.

Any comments? Advice?
