Convertible top wont operate
Hi Guys
Is it possible on 1991 500SL that the top won’t operate because of an ABS light on ?
Could it be because that the ABS brake light is on,it interrupts the sequence Top move ?

Both soft top and ABS are dependent on vehicle speed signal (VSS). If missing VSS is the reason why your ABS light is on, the answer is yes.

Well theforce88, if there is a problem in VSS, probably both RST and ABS have thrown DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Code) on it. Instead of guessing, read you car's fault memory - you get better clues for the fix.
