OK, unless you find someone with a Star Diagnostic, you'll be lost.
But maybe we can help you if you tell us what the issue is?

You never know, there might be a way to resolve it without the need to scan the code.

Star Diagnosis can be had for as little as $200. I have the software available as a free download, and the "multiplexer" and cables are $200 from China. A member complained to MBWorld about me posting a link to the download, so if interested, you must send me a PM for the link.

It's a 99 with less than 37,000 miles.
The top cylinders started leaking about 2 years ago. I replaced all the seals and all was fine for about 18 months then I noticed a leak in front of the rear passenger side wheel. I missed one. It was the tonneau lock cylinder. I removed it and changed the seals, reinstalled the cylinder and micro switch assembly. Then the top would not move at all, the rollbar locked in the up position and the windows stopped working. Top red button stayed solid red and the rollbar fault light also was illuminated.
Took the car to a dealer and was told the controller was dead. I could not justify spending 2100 "as a start". Took the car home got an exact numbered used controller. Now the windows work and are synchronized. Still the rollbar and the top do not work. Can hear the pump motor run. No red light on for the top and no rollbar fault light. I think I've mentioned everything.
