New SL320 Owner and Loving It

New owner of a 1997 SL320. Was the very lucky purchaser of a car from a gentleman in Charleston, SC on Monday. He had the white SL320 on Hemmings for a while, stating much work had been done and done correctly. I kept looking at the car, finally decided to reach out last Friday (26th), was there Monday(29th) closing the purchase. What a GREAT car. The way this owner took care of this SL320 can only be done by those who truly love a car and want to make sure things are done correctly. The amount of time, money and effort that was spent fixing the smallest of problems that most would just "live with" was amazing. The car rides, handles and looks like a new one. Base on my wife having a 1990 300SE as a DD, I knew the 3.2 straight six was the engine of engines, and if something can withstand my wife driving it everyday, this car should last me until my last days.

Joe, "THANK YOU" for allowing me to be the new owner of a car that you enjoyed and loved owning, it will continue to be loved and driven.

Enjoy,

Paul

Congrats on that purchase. I like the top color selection and factory wheels. How many miles does she have?

FATHERTIME,

The car had 84,000 on the OD.

The PO of the car had spent $31,788.00 on the car (according to the invoices on parts/labor) over the past four years of ownership, with the owner before him spending around $6,500 (based on invoices).
The PO gave me a list of six things that he felt the car still needed:
1.Engine mounts in about 12-18 months according to the MB dealer
2.Drivers side mirror glass
3.Drivers seat bottom stitched/cleaned/conditioned
4.High pitched horn
5.Radio cleaned/serviced
6.Door-panel re-dyed around the seat adjustment area.

I've been driving the car everyday, over to my "mobile office" (Airstream trailer) about 15 miles each way, before the heat comes and after it leaves with the top down and the AC on.

REALLY, Really, really like the car.
