Top Lock Down Pause

Just recently the top when closing (even on level ground) will not automatically grab the passenger side pin. I have to pull down on the handle of the top frame - just above the mirror - to coax the mechanism to grab the pin and lock down.

is there something out of sync & can be reset for timing? Or is this the beginning of top closure hydraulic problems?

You might need to adjust the microswitch in the top bow to get it to know it's in the proper position. Luckily, that adjustment is not super difficult to do. I believe there are some really good threads here that goes through it.

Try to loosen the front pins so they can move then close the top if it works rite then open and tighten them in the new position.

With a bit of fiddling - I managed to find a position that allowed the top to close without me having to pull it down. I first let the screws off too much - then had to guess where the pin wanted to be.
I do not know what put this out of whack ... the pin screws were very tight to undo.
I am very relieved that this was so easily solved.
Did not want my wife to have trouble when she went out on her own.
Thanks FatherTime!
