2001 R129 SL500, '08-'20 W204 C350
Engine buzzing sound before starting
Any idea if this is normal? Key in position 1 or 2 there's a faint buzzing sound.

I think you mean in position 2? if so, that's just the fuel pumps power on ready for ignition

'09 S600, (2) R129 300SLs, '03 SL500, '03 SL55
If the sound emanates from the engine compartment, then likely it is the throttle actuator, and it is normal.
