looking for some type of direction. i have been reading thread after thread but cannot find one related to my problem. i have a 98 sl500 the top goes down just like its suppose to but when i put the top up it cycles thru normally until the last step of the roll bar and windows go up. the roll bar and windows "jerk" up and down about an inch or so. after 4 or 5 jerks the cycle stops at which time i can roll up windows via its switch also i can put the roll bar up via its switch. but after raising windows and roll bar manually the top operation switch starts to blink.
i have reset the roll bar and the windows several time with no luck.

I’m assuming you’ve been doing battery disconnects.. if that’s not working you’ll have to maybe have a Benz indy scan for codes

I had a similar issue. It ended up being a bad soft top control unit. It had a bad relay. If it happens to be your issue I believe you can get it rebuilt.
