R129 1996 Cam oiler Tubes

Hi guys I have a 96 500 with 58 K miles
The idle is good and so is oil pressure, and there is no ticking from the cams.
But due to the age, is it a good idea to replace the poorer quality plastic cam oiler tubes, with the original metal ones as preventative maintainance?
Or is the mileage way too low to worry about this?
I wish to keep the car for a long time.

Good idea Dude,
My 1996 SL500 started ticking on the right side, one of the end caps was off, ended up in the oil pan.
Nothing wrong with OE-MB plastic oilers, original parts for 1996.
With that low miles you should be good for another 58 k ? My SL does metric, 175,000 km and replacements are starting.
If you decide to do the oilers, replace plastic chain rails too, if they let go the timing chain will go too.
Keep the SL for good, unless you start driving on the right side of the road ?

Hi yes when I eventually replace the valve cover gaskets, will replace all the plastic oilers for metal , and new upper chain guides, then I will have peace of mind for many many miles/ years to come.
As long as I can buy petrol I will be keeping this beauty.
