AMG Idenification

I'm just after some help identifying a potentual AMG SL500. My late father got this 1995 SL500 car a few years ago and swore black and blue it was a genunine AMG. From what i've read, AMG only modded a SL500 in 91. The VIN says the car came from the factory with a cloth interior and '8 hole' rims. The car now has a white leather interior with a very tasteful amg logo on the headreast, AMG rims and a old style AMG badge. I'm guessing it's just a tribute car, but thought it was worth asking some gurus.

Engine was never modified, so definitely not an AMG

R129 SL55 AMG & W208 CLK55 AMG
IF it doesn't have the M119 6.0 engine, then it's not a genuine AMG modified car.
However, I love the styling kit, and if it's a genuine HWA part, it's the very good value these days.
