SL/R129: Soft top issue

Soft top issue
Hello,
My dad's 94' SL320 has some issues since a questionable oopsie: my dad accidentally while jumping the SL320 he connected the positive with the negative and vice versa, and kaboom!, a massive spark
Then he started it and the ABS light stayed on, today we wanted to install the hard top and the problem happened: the soft top won't unlatch
What we diagnosed (with no pro tools or too technically):
Fuse number six (i think), IT was OK
The hydraulic pump buzzed
The rear latches tried to unlatch, the pistons pulled the top in and then the latches should have unlatched
What could the issue be? Hope it isn't bad control unit because it will be a pain in the pocket, checked used prices on ebay and a guy waned 1k dollars and then with courrier to ship to paraguay, no, there aren't any of these being parted out here, these are really rare to see
But i'm mostly sure the control unit is the problem
And ABS??? Fuse was OK
