M119 Fuel injection regulator leak

Hi people, car is running fine but smell of fuel after halted, and it's coming out of a small vent in the regulator body.
I've seen one mention for someone that has seen this, and replaced it.
My question is - could this just likely be the 2 o-rings leaking and its finding its way back around the body to pop out where I saw it, or is it likely the valve itself has an internal leak.
(Man the thing is heavy for its size. Real old-school construction.)
Does it just on/off the fuel when the car is running / stopped? Seems unlikely it would actually regulate the pressure, but maybe it does?
Bosch part

Thx Greg

Well an update for others. Wasnt just the o-rings, was the unit and replacing it fixed the problem. Fuel economy now a bit better, with no leaks!
