Hello all
My car is a 1999 SL500 with 44k miles.
question,
recently bought it and put about half a tank. Drove the car a bit and then put full tank.
since then there is a smell of gasoline in the garage.
The description above is similar to what I had couple of years ago with my mustang. The gromet between the fuel tank and the hose needed to be replaced. Every time I put full tank fuel started to leak from the rubber groumt.
is this the same case with the SL?
or there is a leak other place?
notes: the floor is clean and I can’t see any fuel on the floor.
engine run smooth. No warning lights?
any ideas or thoughts where to start looking?

Inside fender driver side is the charcoal canister, there a small rubber tube is often broken.

do you have a picture of the location of the tube? Video can help as well so I will know where to look at

Update
I found that the leak comes from the pump.
any one knows what is the pump model number i need to search? same question regarding the fuel filter?
any recommendation for third party or OEM only.
any advise will be great appreciated

I dont know if US models use other parts, but these could fit:

A0004707894 FUEL PUMP
A0024773101 FUEL FILTER

pick the AB one, then go to fuel system > fuel pump package. There you will find the right pump and filter part numbers for your car
