Seat Tilt Override?
Hi all,
I am looking to get back in a mercedes with a R129. I test drove one yesterday and it was just a bit too snug for me at 6'5".
As you know, as the seat hits it's rearmost position the back of the seat starts to tilt forward so as not to hit the bulkhead.
I read somewhere (forget where) that someone (with the car battery disconnected) hooked up a 12v with wires directly to the seat motor and had it tilted back into the bulkhead enough so that they could fit.
Does anyone know of any defeat device that makes the seat not tilt forward when going back?
Otherwise, if it works I would get it in a position where I like it and disconnect the power seat so other people can't move it, as I'll be the only likely driver anyways.
Thanks,

I thought the automatic tilt forward feature was so your melon wouldn't wacked when the rollbar deployed. Which it does with a bit of force.
Sort of like it's a bad idea to have any passengers in the rear storage area.
