1992 500SL
When my car reaches temperature 176 Fahrenheit about 10 minutes the car shuts down and won’t start for a hour or two. Any suggestions would be great help.

I'd check the crankshaft position sensor.

Car turns off
I replaced the CPS and also the gas filter. Still have the same issue.

When car heats up (10 minutes) it turns off won’t start for 2 hrs

Could it be the distributor caps and rotors? I have replaced the CPS and gas filter.

Is there a thick film resistor in your distributors...if so if under a hot load they can open(open circut) and cause a shut down...then when it cools is closes back up and gives you that start up.

Distributor resistor
Can the resistor ribbon be replaced or do I change the cap and rotor. Also do I have to use a rotor adapter?
