SL/R129: Which New Mirrors w/LED t/s will fit on 1990 model 500SL

Which New Mirrors w/LED t/s will fit on 1990 model 500SL
I am looking to replace the older square types with possibly a new one off of a 2001 or newer model MB but am not sure which one will fit..? Has anyone done this..

From what I know the 1999+ mirrors should just be a direct bolt on. The only thing that I heard is the plugs do not match. You would have to cut the new one off and use the one from the old mirror. You may have to spend some time to figure out the corresponding wires

However, I am still working with a contact in Miami that states he can get the correct mirror that will fit and hopefully I will be able to upload a part # and picture... As far as the other upgrade I wanted to do (until I found out the price..!) was the Xenon Headlights.. I also found a really good source for that and alot of other hard to find items for SL's.. I personaly would look at www.performanceproducts.com before drivers corner. I have never delt with drivers corner but i have bought porsche and mercedes stuff from PP.com and they have come in OEM boxes and have been never disappointed. Spent 5K on the porsche and my 97 from PP.com and I cannot say anything but they rock.
The other question i have is why the mirror upgrades? I had a 97 and just purchased a 2000 and yes the sleek/sporty mirrors do look better but they are quite a bit smaller and took some time getting used to. I would not spend the money. Most people will not know that you upgraded and you will never get the money back when/if you sell it

You make a good point and I will call Drivers Corner to find out their procedures and Customer Satisfaction policy.
On your other question, I originally wanted to update it since it is 14 years old now and then realized that an additional benefit of the turn-signal blinkers is the safety factor. I will buy a little piece of mind for that much. Another kind Gent from another site sent me some links on the installation process in German so I used Babblefish to translate most of it, See Below:

Obviously, it looks a little more difficult than I first imagined but at least I know it can be done and will go ahead and order the mirrors. For anyone attempting this, I would fully read all links and directions first before deciding on this as the mirrors will probably run about $200.00 plus your time to install them. If you decide to take it to a mechanic, then expect you’re spending to go up quite a bit.
