SL/R129: New top problem, FIXED.

New top problem, FIXED.
99 SL500
Car was in storage for 4 month. I got it back today, removed the metal roof, all went well, and went for a drive.
Came back, tried raising the soft top but it would not budge.
Resynced the windows, nothing. I could hear the pump if I tried backwards, but but pushing forward, noting would happen. Thew windows would not roll down even.
Long story short, once I put up the top manually, first time for me, everything started working. I didnt even get to locking top locks, I tried and sytem worked fine.
What I did notice, is that rear latch for the top didnt lock on the first try. Tried again and all went well.
Any clues?
