SL/R129: Can I remove just the ignition tumbler in 1990 500SL

Can I remove just the ignition tumbler in 1990 500SL
I have a 1990 500SL and the key is starting to stick so it's time to replace the tumbler.

I've done this in W124 with ease but the R129 is different.

Is it possible to remove just the tumbler ?

The still turns but sticks.

This car does not have a coded key....the from cover just screws off.

How can I remove JUST the tumbler and NOT the whole switch ?
